Italo Zoffoli started his activity in the “World of Wood” with the help of a small lathe, a rudimentary tool used by craftsmen to manufacture hand-made items.

A few years later, in 1963, the company won the prize Tornio d’Oro” (Golden Lathe).

This award was assigned with the aim of rewarding and valuing the quality of the Italian design. The product that allowed to achieve this goal was the globe bar.

The innovative item, made of wood and not of paper mache anymore, aroused interest and attention not only of the national audience, but of thousands of visitors who came from all over Europe, where this piece was already exported for some years.
