Product description

The blue of the Mediterranean, the green of the hills behind, the soft tones of the eighteenth-century buildings and the riot of colors of the heraldic coats of arms that stand out on the upper sides: this hand-washed perspective view of Naples is a real joy for the eyes, besides being an artifact of great historical, cultural and artistic value. Our gaze ranges from the Castel dell'Ovo to the Castel Sant'Elmo, getting lost in the many details and details depicted by the master Friedrich Bernhard Werner. Certainly the all-German taste for the cities crowned by towers and tall bell towers accompanied the hand of the designer, but this does nothing but make this perspective view of rare beauty even more fascinating. To accompany the drawing, in the lower part, an immense legend of as many as 77 items which, one after the other, indicate the places of interest and the main buildings of eighteenth-century Naples - here called Neapolis, taking up the Greek root of the name.

Techniques from the 18th century have been used to reproduce this work. Finely engraved plates and an antique manual press were used giving this work its fundamental characteristic that ties it to the past: Engraving. The paper used for engraving is 100% cotton and  it undergoes a delicate and important  aging process using only natural substances.

The watercoloring is done by expert  artists in their field who give the work subtle hues and a harmonious composition of colors resulting in a pleasant scenic or stage effect.

For this reason, due to the completely handmade nature of our canvases, it may take more than 30 days for the production
