Product description

The perspective view of Naples, thanks to Castel dell'Ovo on one side and the pier on the other, seems to embrace the observer. To strike and steal the attention, at first, is the Mediterranean that washes the city of Naples, crossed by beautiful sailing ships. A little further on, where the waves appease, the eighteenth-century Naples rises majestically. Behind the city, on the same level as Castel Sant'Elmo on the Vomero hill, there is a gently unrolled parchment, bearing the Greek root from which Naples derives, precisely 'Neapolis', new city. In the lower part, as is customary in the perspective views of Probst, a rich legend with as many as 77 items, to indicate the main points of interest.

Techniques from the 18th century have been used to reproduce this work.  Finely engraved plates and an antique manual press were used giving this work its fundamental characteristic that ties it to the past: Engraving. The paper used for engraving is 100% cotton and  it undergoes a delicate and important  aging process using only natural substances.

The watercoloring is done by expert  artists in their field who give the work subtle hues and a harmonious composition of colors resulting in a pleasant scenic or stage effect.

For this reason, due to the completely handmade nature of our canvases, it may take more than 10 days for the production.
